How to Create DSPFAI Trade Requests

There are several types of DSPFAI trade requests that you can create and many ways to create them. You can create a request for an Open Trip, Charter Trip, or Directly With Another Flight Attendant. You can also create an OFR Request to simply pick up an open trip or an RDO trade directly with another Flight Attendant. Once you've create a DSPFAI Trade Request, it is saved to your computer and can be immediately submitted to Unimatic via a single click. Soon, you will also be able to create and submit DSPFAI WOP requests to drop trips.

When working with creating any type of Trade within Crew Companion, remember to refer to the Legend for a definition on what the different icons mean.

Some of the ways in which you can begin to create the DSPFAI Trade Request are listed below:

Create a DSPFAI Trade Request for an Open Trip

To create a DSPFAI Trade Request for an Open Trip:

  1. Click on Open Trips in the Left Side Panel. Note: Be sure Refresh the Open Trip List if you have not done so.
  2. Locate and click on the trip that you want.
  3. Hold down your left mouse button and Drag and Drop the trip onto My DSPFAI Trips in the Left Side Panel.
  4. Once the trip has been dropped onto My DSPFAI Trades, you will see the trip listed as Trade 1 in the top center section of your screen. If you create another DSPFAI Trade Request, it will be listed as Trade 2. Also, notice that the bottom middle section next to your Calendar displays the detail information for the trade.

Create a DSPFAI Trade Request for a Charter Trip

To create a DSPFAI Trade Request for a Charter Trip:

  1. Click on My DSPFAI Trades in the Left Side Panel.
  2. In the center section of the Trips and Trades Display Pane, click on create a new DSPFAI.
  3. In the New Trade dialog box, check Trade.
  4. Click the drop down arrow and select Trade for chartered id(s). Note: You need to know the Charter ID before proceeding further.
  5. Click Create.
  6. In the New TRD Trade dialog box, click the drop down arrow and select the trip id you Wish to trade.
  7. Click the Add button.
  8. Enter the TripID, Trip Date, and Position. Click the drop down arrow for Trip Date and Position and select the appropriate choice. Note: You need to know the specific TripID and Trip Date for the charter flight.
  9. Click OK when finished.
  10. If you are done adding charter flights, click OK.
  11. If you click on My DSPFAI Trades in the Left Side Panel, you will see the trade request displayed at the top and middle section of your screen. At this point you can Edit, Delete, or Submit to Unimatic.

Create a DSPFAI Trade Request With Another Flight Attendant

To create a DSPFAI Trade Request with Another Flight Attendant:

  1. Click on the New Trip Trade toolbar button.
  2. The New Trade dialog box will appear. Select New Trip Trade and Directly with another Flight Attendant.
  3. Click Create.
  4. In the New TRD Trade dialog box, click the drop down arrow and select the trip id you Wish to trade
  5. Enter the Flight Attendant number in the With another F/A# area.
  6. Enter the TRDKEY if required.
  7. Next to ID(s), click the Add button.
  8. Enter the TripID and TripDate.
  9. Click OK.
  10. Continue to Add or Remove ID, when you are finished, click OK
  11. If you click on My DSPFAI Trades in the Left Side Panel, you will see the trade request displayed at the top and middle section of your screen. At this point you can Edit, Delete, or Submit to Unimatic.

Create a Trip Pickup for OFR

To create a DSPFAI Trip Pickup for OFR:

  1. Click on the New Trip Trade toolbar button.
  2. The New Trade dialog box will appear. Select New Trip Pickup and OFR - Open Flying Request..
  3. Click Create.
  4. In the New TRD Trade dialog box, hold down your mouse button to select the Date Range. In the next field under add more criteria, click the drop down arrow and select the desired choice. You can continue to add as many criteria as you want. Refer to the Criteria Definition page for further information.
  5. Click the drop down arrow for Priority and select the appropriate choice..
  6. Click OK when finished.
  7. If you click on My DSPFAI Trades in the Left Side Panel, you will see the trade request displayed at the top and middle section of your screen. At this point you can Edit, Delete, or Submit to Unimatic.

Create a Trip Pickup Directly with another Flight Attendant

To create a Trip Pickup Directly with Another Flight Attendant:

  1. Click on the New Trip Trade toolbar button.
  2. The New Trade dialog box will appear. Select New Trip Trade and Directly with another Flight Attendant.
  3. In the New TRD Trade dialog box, click the drop down arrow and select the trip id you Wish to trade
  4. Enter the Flight Attendant number in the With another F/A# area.
  5. Enter the TRDKEY if required.
  6. Next to ID(s), click the Add button.
  7. Enter the TripID and TripDate.
  8. Click OK.
  9. Continue to Add or Remove ID, when you are finished, click OK
  10. If you click on My DSPFAI Trades in the Left Side Panel, you will see the trade request displayed at the top and middle section of your screen. At this point you can Edit, Delete, or Submit to Unimatic.

Edit a DSPFAI Trade Request for an Open Trip

  1. If you want to Edit the DSPFAI Trade Request (i.e. to set the Preference # or Retain of Rejected), click the Edit Trade button.
  2. If the Open Trip that you choose to create a request for conflicts with on of your existing trips, they will be listed in the drop down for Wish to trade ID(s) with a check mark.
  3. Check the Make-Up AFA with RDO trade option if you are on staff with the AFA and wish to make up time lost while performing AFA duties.
  4. Check the Retain if rejected option if you want your trade request to be saved and reattempted later in the event it is not initially accepted.
  5. Check the the Pref # option if want to set the order of preference for this trade. If left unchecked, the trade will be created as the next available number.
  6. Under the For open ID(s) area, you can click Add or Remove a specific Trip ID. Note: You need to know the Trip ID before selecting this area.

Delete a DSPFAI Trade Request for an Open Trip

If you decide that you no longer want a DSPFAI Trade Request that you have created, you can delete it.

  1. Click on My DSPFAI Trades in the Left Side Panel.
  2. Click the Delete button for the trade you wish to delete.
  3. Note: Currently, this will NOT delete the DSPFAI from Unimatic! You must do that manually although the function to delete DSPFAI trades on Unimatic will be included soon.

  4. When prompted to delete, click Yes.

Submit DSPFAI Trade Requests

After you have manually created a DSPFAI Trade Request, it is critical that you Submit the trade(s) to Unimatic. You can choose to Submit All to Unimatic or Submit Selected to Unimatic. Only DSPFAI trades created by an Auto-Trade are submitted to Unimatic automatically!

  1. Click on My DSPFAI Trades in the Left Side Panel.
  2. In the top middle section, click on either Submit All to Unimatic or Submit Selected to Unimatic.
  3. A separate window will display showing the status of the submittal. If the submittal fails, it will display the reason why. You can choose to Skip, Retry, or Cancel.
