How to Create an Auto Trade Requests

When working with creating any type of Trade within Crew Companion, remember to refer to the Legend for a definition on what the different icons mean.

Some of the ways in which you can begin to create the Auto-Trade Request are listed below:

Create an Auto Trade Request to Trade Away A Trip

To create an Auto Trade Request to trade away a trip:

  1. Click on the New Trip Trade toolbar button.
  2. The New Trade dialog box will appear. In this example, we are going to trade a trip away. Select New Trip Trade and Create an Auto-Trade.
  3. Click Create.
  4. In the New Trade dialog box, define the criteria for a trip you would like to pick up. Click and drag your mouse button to select the Date Range. In the next field under add more criteria, click the drop down arrow and select the desired choice. You can continue to add as many criteria as you want. Refer to the Criteria Definition page for further information.
  5. In the Wish to trade ID(s) area, click the drop down arrow and select the trip(s) to trade away.
  6. Check the Make-Up AFA with RDO trade option only if you are on staff with the AFA and wish to make up time lost while performing AFA duties.
  7. Check the Retain if rejected option if you want your trade request to be saved and reattempted later in the event it is not initially accepted.
  8. Check the the Pref # option if want to set the order of preference for this trade. If left unchecked, the trade will be created as the next available number.
  9. Be sure to set the Min Pre-departure Time to something that is appropriate. If a trip is found matching your criteria inside this minimum time, the program will NOT automatically create a DSPFAI trade but it will notify you that the trip is open allowing you to decide if you have sufficient time to trade for it.
  10. When finished defining the criteria and making selections, click OK.
  11. If you are finished creating your trade requests, close down Crew Companion. You will be prompted if you want to Minimize Crew Companion to the System Tray? If you have armed an active Auto Trade, it is CRITICAL that you click Yes. This will let your program automatically fire and try to pickup the trip for you. Create an Auto Trade - Pickup Only for a Charter Trip

To create an Auto Trade Request for a Charter Trip:

  1. Click on the New Trip Pickup toolbar button. The first time that you perform an Auto Trade, you will see the Auto Trade Disclaimer dialog box. Please read this carefully and then click "I Accept".

  2. The New Trade dialog box will appear. In this example, we are going to pickup a charter trip. Select New Trip Pickup and Create an Auto-Trade (Pickup Only).
  3. Click Create.
  4. In the New Trade dialog box, define the criteria for a trip you would like to pick up. Hold down your mouse button to select the Date Range. In the next field, click the drop down arrow and select Charter. You can continue to add as many criteria as you want. Refer to the Criteria Definition page for further information.
  5. In the Wish to trade ID(s) area, if you select RDO (pickup only).
  6. Be sure to set the Min Pre-departure Time to something that is appropriate.
  7. Pickup only Priority is a required field. Click the drop down arrow and select the appropriate choice.
  8. Click OK when finished.
  9. If you are finished creating your trade requests, close down Crew Companion. You will be prompted if you want to Minimize Crew Companion to the System Tray? Edit an Auto Trade Request

  1. If you want to Edit the Auto Trade Request, click the Edit Trade button.
  2. The Criteria Definition box will display again so you can make the appropriate changes and click OK when finished.

Delete an Auto Trade Request

If you decide that you no longer want an Auto Trade Request that you have created, you can delete it.

  1. Click the Delete button.
  2. When prompted to delete, click Yes.
